Sorry - I know it has been forever since I last wrote!

Okay - so I am finally writing on my blog. I know that it has been forever.

We did make it home from out trip. We stopped in Atlanta and visited with Chelsea, Hudson, and Josh. Chelsea was my best friend all four years at Georgia - we were glued at the hip (of course Julie was glued too!) We met up with them at lunch and it was great seeing them. Hudson is SO cute. He has a great personality and was making Matt and I laugh throughout lunch. William decided to have a true blow out in his car seat so while we are supposed to be hanging out with them, we are spending a ton of time cleaning William, changing him and his outfit, wipping down the carseat (knowing we still had to get to Macon) and then cleaning ourselves (we didn't realize he had a blow out until Matt got him out of the car and it was all over his arm - ewwww). We did get it all taken care of and finally were able to head to Macon where we stayed our last night of the trip with Dianne Hattaway (good friend from FPD). William loved staying with Dianne. Dianne had invited several of our Macon friends over for dinner so we could see everyone. It was great. It was so nice of Dianne to have us over and then to invite our friends over so they could see us and William.

We have been busy doing little things here and there and I haven't had time to write. The sad thing is I cannot tell you what all I have been doing because I don't know - it just seems everyday ends and I have had no time to do anything. I am just staying busy with life.

We did make a new purchase this weekend. Matt and I did buy an elliptical trainer. BIG purchase but hopefully will give us beach bodies soon! I have a membership to the YMCA but the price went up - I was spending $50 a month and that was individual membership and not family. I have been going but it takes me over an hour to do just 30 minutes of cardio. Getting there, parking, signing in, stretching, getting on the machine, etc. I have time to do that now with Matt home for the summer but in just two weeks, I won't be able to go the YMCA until Matt gets home and he doesn't usually get home early. Matt also wanted to start working out and he quickly realized that it is WAY to hot in Thomasville to run outside. So we figured it was better to buy a machine that we both can use - with the convience of it being at our house so that I can use it while William is napping. The machine will pay for itself in less than a year IF we were to get the family plan at the YMCA so that Matt could work out. We finally got it put together yesterday. We are still figuring all the programs out. We are excited about it and I hope it gets good use. We are now looking for a CHEAP lcd tv (SMALL) that we can put in the room with it so we can watch tv while we work out. Until we find a tv in our price range ($100 or less) we will just workout to music. Here is a picture of what we got below.

Trip Day 5

Well, all I have to say for today is
GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (winning in the 9th - 7 to 4!)
Matt and I went to Academy Sports this morning where I bought some tennis things like shoes, skirt, shorts with pockets, and a shirt. We then spent the afternoon watching FSU lose to Stanford (16 to 5 - ouch!). We had ribs, corn, and german potato salad for dinner - DELICIOUS! Matt's friends are here and I am about to go to bed. One of his friends bought William a rattle from Tiffany and Co. I have never gotten anything from Tiffany and Co. but my 3 month son now has. Crazy. We got some great photos of William sucking his thumb (he found the thumb today and was sucking it like crazy) and with the men.

Nothing is planned for tomorrow but to relax. Happy Father's day to Matt for the first time - Ahhhhh......

Trip - the rest of Day 3 and Day 4

The rest of Day 3

Well day 3 ended well. Pop took Matt fishing where Matt has been wanting to learn how to fly fish. Pop taught him and he caught 2 fish. Matt was excited since he has a fly rod at home and didn't know how to fly fish. We ate at Zanzo's last night and it was delicious. Matt and I got homemade pizza (pepperoni and mushroom) and Nana and Pop got lasagne. Then we went home where I tried to beat Nana at Dr. Mario (first time I have played since last time being there - 4 years ago).

Day 3 -

William slept until 9:30! Go William. I got up at 9:00 and had breakfast quietly before William got up. Of course Nana and Pop were already up and they were playing Dr. Mario. Last night I played against Nana and of course lost but Pop was sitting there telling me what I need to do and so on. Pop even let me know how bad I was doing on a regular basis. I would say "Ah I messed up" and he would respond "You more than just messed up!" :) So Nana was on Level 4 and I of course worked my way up to Level 4. Why would I even try to beat Nana at her own level - Well - You MUST see the below video. Nana beat me 1,000 times but there was that 1 time that I won! I know - hard to believe - how is this possible!!!! Not only did I beat her (which is definitely a once in a lifetime event) I beat her all 3 rounds to win!!!!!! Needless to say - I caught it on camera - see below.

We decided to go to York Falls for lunch. We had a great time. The weather was beautiful.

We then left the mountains at 5:00 and are now at Mr. Casper's (Matt's dad's house). We will be here until Monday. Matt has several friends coming over tomorrow night for Mr. Casper's ribs. If you have never had his ribs - you have never truly had ribs. They rock! They are a must when we are up here visiting. We are looking forward to seeing some of his friends (they were in our wedding - Scott Rogers and Mike Hair - best man) Look forward to seeing Chelsea on Monday for lunch! William was excited to see Puppa - see video below. He truly has learned to talk loudly over the last couple of days.

Trip Day 2

So we left Miriam's after a great stay to head to the mountains. We stopped in Athens for lunch and ate at Raffertys - yummy. We arrived at Nana and Pop's about 4:00 this afternoon. William was perfect in the car. He was ready to play when we got to the mountains. We hung out with Nana and Pop and Matt tried (and is still trying) to fix Pop's wireless printer. Nana and Pop made a great dinner. We had steak, baked potato, salad, and bread. We had strawberry shortcake for dessert. We are definitely getting fed well so far this trip.

Tonight we took William swimming for the first time. I am not sure if he knew what to do but he didn't cry or anything - so that was good. I have attached some pictures of him in his swimsuit and a video of him swimming.

Tomorrow Matt and Pop are planning on going fishing. Matt wants to learn how to fly fish since he got a fly fish rod. I am not sure what Nana, William, and I are going to do - just relax. We are going into Clarksville tomorrow night to eat at an Italian Restaurant. Sounds Great!

Trip Day 1

Well we made it to Macon today. We first went to visit some of our best friends here in Macon - Jennifer and Janice. Jennifer had a little girl, Piper, in August on Matt's birthday. We wanted to make sure William and Piper met (we are fine with them dating and getting married :) The first picture is of them two. Hopefully we will be showing this picture at their rehearsal dinner.

We then had dinner with Miriam and Cal. They had roast, potatoes, carrots, white acre peas, and rice. It was absolutely delicious! After dinner, Cal took William out to meet Nick. What a treat! William has taken his bath and is getting ready for bed. Miriam is trying to get me to set up a facebook page. Haven't decided if I am going to do that or not - but I know Beth wants me to do it too so maybe I will. Wow- that is a blog page and facebook page in one month. Tomorrow we leave for the mountains. I will try and post more while in the mountains.

Trip

This is my third posting of the day - sad! I thought about putting it all as one long post but knew it would be a little overwhelming so I am sorry for all the posts. This has been the first chance I have had to sit down and write.

So after finding out that Miriam and Cal are taking an awesome anniversary trip - I thought I would share about how Matt and I are celebrating our 6th anniversary. Our anniversary is tomorrow - due to a million things that have to be done tomorrow - we celebrated last night. We didn't think it would be very romantic taking William with us; however, mom was not in town to keep him. So we were actually going to have to leave William with a babysitter for the evening - scary for me! I called a girl, Laura, that I taught two years ago. She is great and she has come over several times to meet William. I love her and trust her completely BUT she was going to be with MY baby for several hours without me being at home. I tried and acted mature about it and told myself over and over again that William will be more spoiled with her (held the whole time, etc). So Matt and I made our plans. We decided to go to the movies to watch Prince Caspian late in the afternoon, then come home to feed William (what a great excuse to check up on William - breastfeeding does have its perks) and then went to Mom and Dad's (a restaurant in Thomasville) to eat. The best was that Matt took me to Dairy Queen for a blizzard for dessert. Blizzards are the best thing since sliced bread. We had a great time and I only thought about William a few times (more like a million but who's counting and I only called Laura once to check on him!). I am so glad Matt and I did get out and go on a date for our anniversary. Not exactly Puerto Rico like Miriam and Cal but a treat all the same.

We are going on our summer vacation this upcoming week. Matt and I are excited about it. We are leaving Tuesday and going to Miriam and Cal's for the night. Then on Wed we are headed to the mtns to visit Nana and Pop for a couple of days. Over the weekend we will be going to Matt's dad's house. Mr. Casper has not seen William since he was 2 weeks old. He has definitely grown since then. After Mr. Casper's we are going back to Macon and visiting with some friends. We will be home the following Tuesday. We are going to get to see a lot of people and William won't have to be in a car seat for longer than 3 hours! We are so excited. We think William might get to go swimming for the first time at the mtns. We have some swimmies for 16 lbs (that is the small size) and he is only 13 or 14 lbs but they will work. We will definitely video tape it and put it on the blog. I will try and update the blog with pics as I get them. We know it will be a great trip with lots of opportunities for pictures and videos. So between now and Tuesday - there is a lot of laundry, cleaning, and packing that must happen. That reminds me - I have clothes in the wash that need to go in the dryer. Let me go do that while William is asleep.

Anyone can post!

After reading Mary Lu's post and then getting an email from Laura saying she didn't post because of having to set up a google account - Miriam wrote me and told me how to fix this. Now anyone can post without having to set up an account. Thanks to all that did - sorry about that. Like I said - blogging is something completely new to me.

William's bad hair day!

William got his bath last night and ended up pooping all in his towel. Uh... BOYS! So, by the time Matt got him dressed, cleaned the towel and put it in the wash - William's hair had dried. Needless to say, it was quite a hairdo. He went to bed without getting it fixed so by today I could really get it sticking up! The first set of pictures are from last night and the second set are from today. As the hospital staff said "He is a punk rocker!" I am not sure why the first picture is turned. Ipulled it off my computer where it is horizontal. Any master bloggers know why it did this? I took it off and redid it and it still messed up.

William smiling and talking

Here is a quick video of William smiling and talking. It is not great but I got him doing it a little. This is off my camera and I am still trying to figure out how to download videos off of my camcorder.

Here we go!

Okay, so everyone has been telling me that I needed a blog page so I have now created one. I am not a writer so this is not going to be updated too often - just so you know. I have mainly created this page so that I can put videos of William up for people to see. I have tried e-mailing videos but they are too big (our camcorder is a HD so it won't shrink small enough to send) but I can, hopefully, post them on this blog page and then everyone can get them without their e-mail mailbox being filled. We will see. Matt is helping me get videos downloaded and he has to work 7:00 am until 5:45 pm this week so we may not get a video up until the weekend. I will send out an e-mail letting everyone know when one is up.
